A better streaming experience with fewer apps?

Disney recently announced that it's buying the part of Hulu it doesn't own from Comcast. This deal is for at least $8.6 billion. They've also added a "Hulu Hub" section to the Disney+ app as a test. If you have a Disney+ and Hulu bundle, or if you use the same email for both services, you'll see a new Hulu section at the top of the Disney+ app.

But, Disney also mentioned that Hulu and Disney+ will still be available separately. For now, Hulu's Live TV service and special Premium options will only be in the Hulu app, along with all of Hulu's regular content.

Disney's CEO, Bob Iger, is aiming for a single app where you can access everything. However, there are some technical challenges and other practical issues to work out before this can happen.

Right now, it's tough to combine user profiles from different services. But Disney bosses have a plan. They want to encourage people to choose a package deal. They believe they'll want to upgrade once customers see all the cool stuff they can get.

The price of the package deals is improving, especially since the costs of Disney+ and Hulu are increasing. At the moment, prices vary.
